LAST GAME: Cavs vs. Wizards

What a year. Very different. Interesting and exciting at time. Frustrating at times, too.
Excited about the draft and to see what we look like next year.

I’ll have some ideas/comments about the changes coming to cavshistory.com later, but for now GO CAVS!

YOU SHALL NOT PASS!

On Friday night, the Wine and Gold will celebrate “Joe Tait Appreciation Night” – honoring the legendary broadcaster and the “Voice of the Cavaliers.”

Before the Cavaliers matchup with the Bulls tips off, the great Tait will be immortalized when a banner commemorating the Hall of Famer’s prolific 39-year run is raised to the rafters – joining the organization’s all-time greats.

Along with calling Cavalier games for nearly four decades, Tait has been the voice of the WNBA’s Cleveland Rockers, Cleveland Crusaders hockey and was the TV voice of the Indians for 16 seasons. For the past 21 years, he’s been the voice of Mount Union football, one of the most dominant Division III programs in college athletics.

Prior to the 2010-11 season, Joe announced that he would retire at the campaign’s conclusion, but was sidelined in October with health problems. After undergoing successful cardiac surgery and rehabilitation, he made his eagerly-anticipated return on March 27 as the Cavaliers took on Atlanta.

On Friday’s Appreciation Night at The Q, video vignettes featuring Tait highlights and well wishes from friends, colleagues and fans will run throughout the evening. (And for more, don’t miss the premiere of “Have a Good Night Everybody” on Fox Sports Ohio after the Cavaliers-Wizards postgame show on Wednesday night.)

Through 39 years of winning, losing, change and upheaval, Joe Tait has been a constant in the Cavaliers ever-changing universe.

Cavs vs. Knicks

Cavs/Knicks

Cavs/Knicks

Cavs are in NYC to take on Melo/ Amare and the Knicks at the “Mecca” of basketball.  Cavs have twice surprised the Knickerbockers with an upset, including a game that Carmelo declared the game won before they played because they deserved to win after being blown out the previous game.  (NBA logic)

After the game, Carmelo said “No Excuses” for the loss… then game some excuses:

”I don’t like to make any excuses, this was a game, regardless of how long we’ve been together, that we should have got,” said Anthony, who had a gauze wrap on his elbow. ”It comes down to everybody being on the same page defensively. ”We’ve only had four practices to get it together.

”No excuses.”

Also of note, NY did NOT have Billups last game.  I would’ve gone with that excuse

Go Cavs.

Cavs vs. Wizards (no Wall tonight)

Cavs are in DC to take on the Wizards tonight.  Wall won’t play due to a suspension from getting into a fight with Cavs alum Z.

Cavs vs. Heat 3 (Baron to Start)

Cavs vs. Heat 3

Cavs vs. Heat 3

Its no longer a news story… but LeBron will visit the Cavs, and more importantly Cleveland, tonight. The Cavs have 14 wins and the Heat will make the playoffs but have underachieved. After all the hub-bub dies down, its just a struggling team vs. a mediocre team playing ball at the Q tonight. I hope everyone behaves themselves and no one gets hurt or arrested, etc…

Baron Davis is going to make his first start for the Wine & Gold tonight. I assumed it would happen sooner or later but with only 10 or so games left I’m wondering: “why pull the trigger?”. All starting Baron can do right now is mess with Ramon’s head.

Regardless, WIN tonight. Would be rad. Go Cavs
