I buy all of LBJ's shoes when they come out... it's a hobby I guess. But they are not really "wearable" outside of the gym. Not like Jordan's (some of them). They are cool looking, but not out on the street. But these look very different. Can totally see lots of people sportin' 'em in jeans.

Cavs went ahead and signed J.J. Hickson to a multi-year contract on July 12th

The 6-foot-9 power forward led the Atlantic Coast Conference in field goal percentage last season at .591, while averaging 14.8 points and 8.5 rebounds for North Carolina State. He will make his professional debut next week as part of Cleveland’s team at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

Every where I click, listen or read pundits are lining up to opine about Lebron going to New York or Brooklyn or New Jersey or anywhere but Cleveland. Granted, LeBron is fueling the fire by waxing so eloquently about those destinations, but to read into everything the man says is pointless. We're two years away from any decision and the Cavs management is definitely on the clock, but so many things can change while NY waits for him to save their basketball lives.

Kelly Dwyer blogged precisely about this yesterday over at the BDL. He acknowledged LeBron's and the Cavs situation and asked his fellow writers to place a moratorium on writing about LeBrons not so impending free agency.

Well fodder is fodder and so many can't help themselves. We Cavs fans need to develop a tougher skin and bring facts to the arguement, not just emotion and fervor.

Some facts:
-Cleveland can offer more money and years to LeBron in terms of contract.
-Since the CBA was created, no player offered a max contract has left his orginal team to take less money. Not even Shaq, despite what Terry Pluto has writen and said. This is just not how the NBA works. A player either forces his way out by demanding a sign and trade or gets his money and dogs it until he's traded.
-Over YaySports The Cavalier has some much more entertaining thoughts to combat the naysayers.

Take a deep breath and don't let the pundits or internet trolls get you worked up, we'll get through this and then we can wait for it all to start again in 2016.

I finally got to updating the stats for the year. Pretty eventful year it was, too. LeBron became all-time leading scorer and only 2nd behind Price for assists. Big Z became all-time leader in personal fouls as well.

Playoff stats will be updated after each round. Hopefully, that's a lot.

On March 21st, 2008, at 23 years old, LeBron James passed Brad Daugherty to be the Cleveland Cavaliers' All-Time Leading Scorer.

Brad had a great career, but due to severe back issues he was forced to end his career at only 28.

So, cheer for LeBron. He is now officially the face of the franchise (probably forever). But also have a toast to Brad Daugherty, a classy player and person who was part of one of the best eras ever in Cavs History.

Just got done reading "The Franchise" by Brian Windhorst and Terry Pluto. Great book for some insights that only two guys working the Cavs beat for five years could get. I especially liked the section about how Ferry was worried how his time as a Cavs play could both effect his role as a Cavs GM both positively and negatively (also some great insight into Ferry's playing days).

In addition, I think its the perfect sequel to another Cavs book I love "CAVS: From Fitch to Fratello" by Joe Menzer and Burt Graeff. There is a little overlap between the two, but its not a rehash.

So pick it up. I'm a huge fan if Windhorst's writing and maybe if you all buy one he can afford a Porsche or something. Since I moved to LA from Cleveland (i.e. I don't get the Plain Dealer anymore and have to rely on the internet for news) I pretty much only read Brian's stuff for Cavs' news.

LeBron is now gracing three major magazine covers at once.

ESPN the Magazine chose LeBron as the cover manfor their 10th anniversary issue to represent the Next 10 years.

SLAM Magazine has him on the cover for an article about three aspects of his life: Personal, Basketball and Business.

Probably coolest of all, LBJ is on the cover of Vogue... with Giselle. He is only the third man to be on the cover of the magazine in its 116 year history.

LeBron Passes Austin Carr

At just 23 years old, LeBron James has past the legendary Austin Carr on the Cleveland Cavaliers All-Time Scoring List. As of last night, LeBron has 10,267 career points. Austin has 10,265.

Congrats to LeBron. He needs 122 more points to pass Brad Daugherty to become the All-Time Leading Scorer in Cavaliers History.

Hiya,
One the the top requests that I get for CavsHistory is that it be more searchable. It DOES have a search feature in the Players Section where you can search for a player by name, number or position. But it seems that either not a lot of people know about it or its just not that cool.

So, to respond to demand there is now a Google Search widget on the home page. The format is not finalized (need to get it to conform to the site layout a little better. It seems to work pretty good.

Use whichever is right for you.

LeBron went off in the second half of the Kicks game and ended up with 50p 8r 10a 4s. That's a good night.

But, what made this blog worthy is some dude tried to "get him" in the fourth quarter at MSG

LBJ actually gave the dude some respect before security "escorted" him out.

The Cavs signed these guys from the Colorado 14ers because they only have six active players for tonight. I don't think these are 10 day contracts, but rather "call-ups." Either way, they get to tell their kids they played with LeBron James.

If you didn't stay up to watch the Lebron-less Cavs take on the Sonics, you missed a humorous situation. Donyell Marshall's jersey came off when he took his warm-up jacket off to enter the game. Kind of funny, probably embarrassing for Marshall, but Lebron was literally LOL-ing....in excess. Now, we laughed like this the first time we saw the sex scene in "Team America" or even the beans scene in "Blazing Saddles" when we were like 10, but this just didn't strike us as that funny. Maybe because it was late.

According to everyone, including NBA.com, Z should get his third trip to the all-star game this year. He is having a fantastic year, especially on the boards. On a personal note: I think Z is cool.

I think if he got this it should secure his number in the rafters of the Q. 11 years with the Cavs, 3 trips to the All-Star Game, one trip to the NBA Finals. (Again, I'm a big Z guy, so take this with a grain of salt)

LBJ was voted to start in the All-Star game in the Big Easy. He got the 2nd most votes in the league with 2,108,831 (because the chowda-heads took care of their own giving Garnett 2,399,148). If you're counting, that is four starts in a row.

Larry Hughes would not win the batting title

Over at Yahoo! Sports Kelly Dwyer is blogging and has an interesting perspective about Larry Hughes. We have to admit, we were pretty psyched when Hughes signed and looked forward to big things. We even considered purchasing a Hughes jersey. Good thing we didn't. That would have been more embarrassing than the Charlie Frye jersey hanging in our closet. Talk about hitching our wagon to the wrong horse.

Obviously, the Hughes experiment hasn't worked out, but we're getting to the point where its just piling on to mention the monumental failure this has become. We get it, he doesn't fit with this team.

Is that a camera or a phone clipped to that lady's bikini bottom? Gotta do what you gotta do, I guess.
